AOL and Switched team up to teach you to steal from the boss

That's right, folks. The good people -- and I use the term loosely -- at Switched.com have posted Tech Tips for Looking Busy at Work, promoted by AOL to millions on their welcome screen. Apparently, we're all so worried about saving our jobs from being exported or taken by immigrants, that we need to figure out ways to steal from our employers and avoid working.

What's that? Steal?

What is it called when you take money for a product and then don't deliver? Fraud, a form of theft. AOL is promoting ways to get paid while not providing the service. AOL is promoting theft and laziness. Do the people at AOL care what God thinks about sloth and greed and theft? I guess not.

It's nice to see that AOL openly promotes good Christian values like stealing and lying! Be sure to give them your comments.

Emilio Gonzales: God Wins (As Usual)

If you've not been following the story, a little boy named Emilio Gonzales in Austin, Texas has been suffering from Leigh's Disease. This horrific genetic degenerative disorder always ends in death:

Leigh's disease is a rare inherited neurometabolic disorder characterized by degeneration of the central nervous system. Leigh's disease can be caused by mutations in mitochondrial DNA or by deficiencies of an enzyme called pyruvate dehydrogenase. Symptoms of Leigh's disease usually begin between the ages of 3 months to 2 years and progress rapidly. In most children, the first signs may be poor sucking ability and loss of head control and motor skills. These symptoms may be accompanied by loss of appetite, vomiting, irritability, continuous crying, and seizures. As the disorder progresses, symptoms may also include generalized weakness, lack of muscle tone, and episodes of lactic acidosis, which can lead to impairment of respiratory and kidney function. Heart problems may also occur.

That certainly sounds like torture to me. What do you think?

As discussed elsewhere on this blog, we know from the Bible that all things which happen on Earth and in the universe are God's Will. Either He causes things to happen, or He knowingly (being omniscient) allows them to occur, having decided not to stop them. Either way, this makes every event His Will.

Is this not so? Denying it would be blasphemy!

Of course, this means that God decided to confer upon little Emilio a brief, torturous existence. Yes, either God intentionally slowly killed Emilio with this tragic disease, or He knowingly allowed Emilio to die of the disease. The end result, of course, is the same: God's Will is done.

In December, God had decided Emilio would die. What happened? The disobedient doctors at Children's Hospital in Austin put him on artificial life support, defying God's Will!

In time, perhaps with prayer, these doctors realized that what they were doing was wrong. They were denying God, Creator of all (including Leigh's Disease) His rightful place in deciding the time of Emilio's death. They announced that it was time to stop interfering with God.

Surprise!

The mother went to court, demanding that the doctors continue to blaspheme the sacredness of God-ordained death with artificial support!

Finally, of course, God won out:

Emilio Gonzales died in his mother's arms Saturday night at Children's Hospital of Austin, Texas, family attorney Jerri Ward said. (Watch how baby Emilio fought for his life )

"God chose to take Emilio at this time," Ward said.

Amazing. The lawyer who expended so much effort (and garnered so much publicity) fighting God's Will has the gall to claim that God didn't choose to take Emilio in December, but rather now!

Meanwhile, what has the hospital's lawyer to say?

"We mourn the death of Emilio Gonzales," Michael Regier, senior vice president of legal services for the Seton Family of Hospitals, said in a statement. "We pray that in the days and weeks to come, Emilio's mother and family will be comforted by God's loving presence and by the knowledge that Emilio's earthly suffering is now ended."

Amazing. All these people, every one of whom fought God's Will, now compound their error by invoking His Holy Name!

I sincerely hope that this crew of blasphemers -- lawyers, parents, and doctors -- can come to Jesus before it is too late for them to be saved!

What of little Emilio? Surely God had a reason for sentencing an innocent to die so horrible and painful a death!

Not being God, I cannot claim to know His thoughts beyond what He says in His Word, the Bible. I will not speculate as to His reasons for inflicting this torture upon an infant. Rather, I will bring up the lessons I see that we can all learn.

First, God's Will always will be done. You can pull together all the lawyers and doctors and machines you like, but if God wants something to happen, it will. This case, like the Terri Schiavo case, illustrates this truth in no uncertain terms.

Second, I've learned a lesson by reading other blogs on this issue. The United States has many millions of Hispanic citizens. Note that I use the word, "citizens". However, upon many a blog (either in the post or in comments), I've seen heartless people complaining endlessly about how these Gonzales people must be illegal aliens, using "our" tax dollars to pay for life support! Yet not one of these very "concerned" individuals cares a whit about disobedience to God; just that a fraction of their taxes might go to help someone they don't believe to be deserving!

Here's a news flash: 43 million Americans are Hispanic, as of 2005. That's a lot. 14% of the total population. Of that total, 7.6 million voted in 2004, and 1.1 million are in the armed services. Only citizens can do those things.

Most Hispanic folks are Catholic, and on the fast train to Hell. Some have come to America, seeking freedom from Papist oppression, and some were born here. Would you not better spend your time helping them understand that praying to Mary is the same as praying to Satan, instead of worrying about how much they've paid in taxes this year?

Fred and Shirley Phelps Can't Get Story Straight on VA Tech

Folks, as correct as Fred Phelps is about God's Scripturally-stated feelings toward homosexuals and witches, he has once again overstepped his bounds as a mere mortal and ascribed motives of his own imagining to God's actions. This time, he has decided that homosexuals aren't involved; God used the killer at Virginia Tech to avenge an alleged attack on Phelps!

Have a look at one of his websites at http://www.godhatesamerica.com/ Quoted from that site:

WBC to Preach at Funerals of Virginia Tech Dead

WBC will preach at the funerals of the Virginia Tech students killed on campus during a shooting rampage April 16, 2007. You describe this as monumental horror, but you know nothing of horror -- yet. Your bloody tyrant Bush says he is 'horrified' by it all. You know nothing of horror -- yet. Your true horror is coming. "They shall also gird themselves with sackloth, and horror shall cover them; and shame shall be upon all faces, and baldness upon all their heads" (Eze. 7:18).

Why did this happen, you ask? It's simple. On April 16, 2007, this nation, through the offices of your military and conspirators therewith took a shot at the servants of God -- your marksman was limp and lame and he had terror all around, so he did a lousy job. But what you get for your trouble is that your God shot at you! The LORD your God sent a crazed madman to shoot at your children, and he didn't miss. Get this straight -- God sent this South Korean madman to kill 31 of your children at Virginia Tech. Was God asleep while this took place? Was He on vacation? Of course not. He willed this to happen to punish you for assailing His servants.

Phelps here appears to claim that someone of the U.S. government attacked him or a member of his cult, and that God responded by murdering students in Virginia. Apparently, Phelps feels himself to be in very close contact with our Lord!

Oddly, Fred seems to have neglected to mention this event to daughter Shirley.

Here's a blurb from their main site, at http://www.godhatesfags.com/featured/dearshirley/2007/20070416_DearShirley50.pdf

We’ll Tell You "Why" The Virginia Tech Massacre – A Lovely Divine Irony And
Righteous Judgment Against This Impudent Nation

Shirley Phelps writes:

The problem with your statement about what those children were doing at that University is that is left out the most important element of what they were doing there. The so called higher education system of this nation has a primary objective and that is to teach rebellion against God to every child they can get their hands on. That is also the primary objective of the lying false prophets that litter the landscape of Doomed america. That is also the primary objective of the parents of Doomed america. Since the teaching of rebellion against God leads to eternal death, also called hell, your God, in a piece of lovely Divine irony has used that very institution that is leading them to eternal death, to be the place where they receive death, or is the launch point from which each of those children entered hell! Make no mistake, crybaby Kisber - they are in hell! PERIOD! They will be in hell for eternity - that is - for ever and ever and ever - no end of days - no relief from the eternal torment, no days off for good behavior, etc.

This is a perfect execution of judgment by a righteous God to a disobedient and rebellious nation and generation!

It seems Fred and Shirley forgot to check their stories with one another, even after running them past God!

Much as Pastors Feelgood across the nation are obsessed with just one part or a few parts of the Bible (frequently John 3:16), Phelps and family are obsessed with homosexuals and witchcraft. Just like Pastors Feelgood, the Phelps family claims to know God's Will, beyond what the Bible says. Just like Pastors Feelgood, the Phelps family ignores the majority of God's Word, cherry-picking the verses they wish to obsess upon.

The Phelps family is just as misleading as any Pastor Feelgood. They commit lies of omission against God's Word on a daily basis, just like Pastors Feelgood, and teach them to others. They alter through addition and deletion God's Word, just like Pastors Feelgood.

They will be condemned to the eternal tortures of the Lake of Fire. Just like Pastors Feelgood.

How do I know this? Am I deciding what God's Will is? No. I'm reading it!

Revelation 22:18-19

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
So it is written. I hope the Phelps family wakes up to God's Word before it is too late for them.

God's Will: The Virginia Tech Shootings

Unless you've been under a rock today, you know that a gunman shot and killed 33 people (and wounded 15) at Virginia Tech today before turning his gun on himself. Story with breaking news is here:
http://www.roanoke.com/news/nrv/breaking/wb/113294

and also here:
http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/04/16/vtech.shooting/index.html

Upset over being dumped by his girlfriend, this Godless loser (let's face it, nobody with God in his life would go about shooting people!) decided to go on a rampage and kill off as many of his fellow students as he could. At the moment, many are wondering how God could stand idly by and let such a thing happen.

I, for one, do not believe God stands idly by and lets anything happen. As it is written in Matthew 10:

29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

What does the Bible tell us? God is omnipotent! God is omniscient! Nothing happens in this world without His knowledge and His direction!

Everything, including this shooting, is part of God's Plan.

Ah, you doubt this. It conflicts with Pastor Feelgood's lies; he tells you that God is all about peace and love, and wants everyone to be happy all the time. Doesn't he?

My Bible says, in Exodus 15:3, "The LORD is a man of war: The LORD is His name." But we'll save that discussion for another day.

Following Pastor Feelgood's lines, you say, "Surely God didn't intend for all these fine young people to be brutally slaughtered, even as they tried to better themselves! They had their whole lives ahead of them, with many future chances to be Saved!"

Let's examine this logically, shall we?

If God did not intend this result, then that means that some loser who got dumped by his girlfriend is capable of thwarting the Divine Will of the Creator of the Universe.

Does that make sense? Er, no. Sorry, I'm not buying it.

Perhaps you say, "Oh, I don't believe that God takes an active role in human day-to-day life. I believe that God started the whole universe thing rolling along, then backed off and lets us find our own way. So humans make their own mess, without God's involvement."

Ok, let's examine that position!

If God started the universe and then stopped intervening and does not have a Divine Plan, then that means that all "miracles" are nonsense or demonic possession. You know, like when someone is "miraculously" cured of cancer, or "miraculously" survives a 10-story fall. Nothing to do with God, and not a miracle.

After all, you believe that God is not involved in human life. Miracles are divine intervention.

Sorry, friend. You can't have your cake and eat it, too. Either:

Option A: God IS involved in humans' daily lives, in which case the shootings at Virginia Tech (and the Holocaust, and Pol Pot's ethnic cleansing program, and the 9/11 attack, and the war in Iraq) are manifestations His Divine Will in accordance with His Plan, or

Option B: God IS NOT involved in humans' daily lives, in which case all "miracles" are not the work of God. This includes two miracles specific to Christianity: One of Virgin Birth, and one of Resurrection.

I'm forced to go with Option A. Aren't you?

Why did God want these 33 people dead, and 15 wounded? Is it because somebody else got an abortion, or because someone's a homosexual, or because there were female teachers?

If I were God, I could tell you. I'm not, the last time I checked. Therefore, I do not know His motives; neither do the people waiting to tell you this was God's Revenge for (fill-in-the-sin). Granted, He isn't a fan of homosexuals or female teachers, but He IS the most prolific abortionist of all time (20% of pregnancies fail after conception, most without the mother even knowing she's pregnant. It's called spontaneous abortion, look it up . . .).

The fact is, WE will not know why God wanted this to happen until we stand before Him and ask. All we do know, is that everything which happens is God's Will.

God knew when He formed the universe that the vast majority of the humans He was going to create would fall short of His requirements for eternal bliss in Heaven. Therefore, it is God's Will.

From the Roanoke paper:

Seth Terrell, Virginia Tech campus pastor at Blacksburg Church of Christ, says the congregation will hold a prayer vigil tonight at the church. The time is yet to be determined but will likely be 6 or 7, he said.

Do you think they'll give God the glory?

Easter Bunny Banned!!

That's right, folks. They didn't take direction from me, nor did they take it from God . . . but the folks at the Newport, Rhode Island school district did the Lord's Will without knowing it!

Some call Easter Bunny ban hare-brained, but others agree
Saturday, March 24, 2007
By Gina Macris, Journal Staff Writer

TIVERTON — The ban on the Easter Bunny’s appearance at the middle-school craft fair today has raised the ire of cottontail lovers everywhere — especially at the New York offices of the Catholic League. [There's a surprise . . .Emphasis mine.]

At the direction of Schools Supt. William Rearick, Peter Rabbit will replace the Easter Bunny at a photo booth sponsored by the Parent-Teacher Council at today’s craft fair, a switch that caught the attention of Catholic League president Bill Donahue in Manhattan.

Donahue, who represents 300,000 members nationwide, said in a statement that it is “unconscionable that in this day and age Superintendent Rearick would choose to
honor a thief.”

“As every schoolchild knows, Peter Rabbit stole from Mr. McGregor’s garden,” Donahue said. [I suppose it'd be far better to honor the cult of Ba'al/Moloch? Child sacrifices and all?]

. . .

About 120 e-mails from outraged members of the Catholic League had landed in [the superintendent's] in box before day’s end. [Emphasis mine.]

. . .

The Catholic League describes itself as the nation’s largest Catholic civil-rights organization, which although not part of the Church, defends individual Catholics and Catholicism from defamation and discrimination. [I didn't know the Easter Bunny was a Catholic. Wait, yes I did.]

. . .

Donahue noted it was “not a Jew or a Muslim who complained about the Easter Bunny,” but the vice chairman of the School Committee, Michael Burk, whom he characterized as an “ex-Catholic.”

. . .

In Cranston, Asst. Supt. Peter Nero said, “We probably have a number of principals who have Santa Claus outfits in their closets who can’t use them anymore, because a few years ago we understood them to be symbols of Christmas.

“I think the same would hold true for the Easter Bunny.”

Now, you already know my position on the Catholic Cult's involvement in promoting the symbols of the Babylonian cult of Ba'al and, in fact, the very creation of "Easter", bypassing the celebration of Passover commanded by God in the Bible for their own traditions. You don't? Read my post on the subject here.

Now that you're up to speed, do you find it as interesting as I do that the group vigorously speaking out against the Bunny Ban, and with rudeness and sarcasm to boot, is the Catholic League?

The Easter Bunny is no more a part of Christianity than Santa Claus, yet the Catholic League attacks a school district for dumping a symbol of a pagan fertility goddess. Why? What do you think? I'd like to hear an explanation, if somebody has one.

Here Comes Satan Cottontail, Hopping Down the Demon Trail

Chocolate bunnies and colored eggs. Satan's Communion, every Easter Sunday! Will you and your children be participating in demonic rituals celebrating Molech and Baal, or will you turn your eyes to God this year?

Easter. For many, it conjures images of a basket-toting rabbit bearing chocolate bunnies. The White House hosts an Easter Egg hunt, as do many churches. What's wrong with that? It's a celebration of spring, and fertility, and . . . Yes, fertility. I'll bet you didn't know Jesus was a fertility god, did you?

What's that you say? He's not?

Then why are you worshipping rabbits -- an unclean animal, consumption of which is abomination to God -- and hunting for colored eggs on the celebration of His Resurrection?

Catholics, that's why!

Huh?

Yes, Catholics. The inheritors of the Babylonian religion, who have perverted every aspect of Christianity with the ways of Nimrod and Semiramis (Ishtar)!

Satan has found a very clever way of perverting Christianity . . . He used the Catholic cult to inject his own rituals -- those directed at any number of false gods, and even a false Savior -- into Christian worship! Think about it . . . Whenever you idolize the Easter bunny, or trade eggs, or even fast at Lent, you are worshipping Satan!

An abbreviated history:

In the early days of Christianity, Christians observed the Passover. In fact, there is no reference to an annual celebration of Jesus' resurrection in the Bible, but instead the continuing celebration of Passover! So where did Easter come from? And when?

Well, until the third century A.D., Passover was celebrated. As the Church became dominated by Gentiles, they desired not to celebrate with the Jews. So, the designation of a particular single-day holiday became more important. In the early fourth century (First Council of Nicea, in 325 A.D.), it was more firmly established that a single-Sunday celebration would be held, dismissing the Passover commanded in the Bible entirely!

Indeed, the Catholic cult took one of many steps on its path of putting the traditions of men above the commandments of God. How many Christian churches do you see celebrating Passover? Not yours, eh? Yet the Bible commands it!

It's not hard to see that, once this step was taken, Catholics rapidly slid down a slippery slope toward worship of fertility goddesses and false messiahs!

A Tale of Two Wascally Wabbits

There are two sets of stories surrounding the origin of the Easter Bunny and Easter eggs. Neither has anything to do with the Resurrection of Jesus, and each stems from hatred of God and the worship of false goddesses!

The more commonly-believed version, distributed by neo-pagans everywhere, The Second (or Later) Wabbit:

It is believed that the Anglo-Saxon people worshipped a fertility goddess named Eostre or Ostara. This goddess had as her symbol the rabbit (after all, they reproduce like rabbits . . . appropriate symbol for a fertility goddess!) and the egg (new life, birds come from eggs). Does the name sound familiar?

The etymology of the name is traced to Bede the Venerable, a Catholic historian.

The English and German names, "Easter" and "Ostern," are not etymologically derived from Pesach [Passover] and according to the 8th century Christian monk and historian Bede are instead related to ancient name for the Anglo Saxon goddess, Eostre, who was celebrated during Eosturmonath, equivalent to April/Aprilis. Bede wrote in Latin:

"Eosturmonath, qui nunc paschalis mensis interpretatur, quondam a dea illorum quae Eostre vocabatur et cui in illo festa celebrabant nomen habuit."

Translated: "Eosturmonath, which is now interpreted as the paschal month, was formerly named after the goddess Eostre, and has given its name to the festival."

When the Catholics (under the Holy Roman Empire) began conquering assorted northern peoples and converting them to their already-polluted mutilation of Christianity, they decided that encouraging the heathens to join up and buy in to their cult was more important than teaching Christ's Truth. So, Pope Gregory I suggested to missionaries that they allow the heathens to retain and incorporate their traditions!

English historian Bede's Historia ecclesiastica gentis Anglorum ("Ecclesiastic History of the English People") contains a letter from Pope Gregory I to Saint Mellitus, who was then on his way to England to conduct missionary work among the pagan Anglo-Saxons. Pope Gregory suggested that converting heathens would go easier if they were allowed to retain the outward forms of their traditional pagan practices and traditions, while recasting those traditions spiritually towards the Christian God instead of to their pagan "devils": "to the end that, whilst some gratifications are
outwardly permitted them, they may the more easily consent to the inward consolations of the grace of God
".

The full text of the letter can be found here. Note: This same reference was removed from WikiPedia's article on Easter within the last 24 hours; following this vandalism (presumably by Satanic Bunnyists or Catholics), WikiPedia has frozen edits to the article until April 12.

The message of Gregory? Gain their obedience to the Catholic Cult, regardless of how watered-down or damaged the message of Jesus becomes in the process! Let the traditions of men take precedence over the commandments of God!

What has God to say about that idea?

As Jesus, He spoke to the Pharisees, but it seems also to the Catholic Cult:

Matthew 15: 7-9
7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Gregory I was Pope from 590 til his death in 604. As you recall from above (First Council of Nicea, 325), he was following long-standing Catholic Cult tradition of incorporating pagan "traditions of men" and ignoring the commandments of God whenver it was expedient.

The First (or Earlier) Wabbit:

The other, less-followed origin of The Bunny of Satan can be found in the Babylonian religion founded by Nimrod and his wife, Semiramis (also called Ishtar). The similarity of the names (Easter and Ishtar) is largely considered a false etymology, so we won't concern ourselves with that. What matters more is the entire basis of the celebration!

Nimrod? Isn't that just a name we call silly people?

It's also the name of a man of great evil. He is mentioned in the book of Genesis:

Nimrod, son of Cush, son of Ham, son of Noah.

Genesis 10: 8-10

8 And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.
9 He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.
10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
Now, we all know the story of the Tower of Babel. Most of us also know that Babel is another name for Babylon, center of the ancient Babylonian Mysteries, a vile cult which despised God.

In fact, Nimrod was revered as a demigod; following his death, Semiramis deified him as a Sun-God known as Baal. He was also known as Molech. Familiar names?

Molech's cult demanded human sacrifices. In fact, Molech was so offensive to God, that He commanded the stoning of ANY followers of the Molech cult, whether they were Israelite or no!

Leviticus 20:2

Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones.

Jeremiah 32:35

And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.
Semiramis had a son out of wedlock, and claimed that he (Tammuz) was born of divine intervention, the rebirth of Nimrod! She claimed him to be the Messiah promised by God! Semiramis then set herself up to be worshipped as the Mother of God, Queen of Heaven, Goddess of Fertility.

Sounding familiar yet? On two levels, even. First, the Wabbit:

The rabbit is well known as a sexual symbol of fertility. In various parts of the world, religions which developed from Babel also associate the rabbit with periodicity, both human and lunar (Egypt, China, etc.). As you may remember, the Mother Goddess Semiramis (Easter) is associated with the Moon. In other words, the Easter bunny symbolizes the Mother Goddess. Annual Spring time fertility rituals are associated worship of the Mother Goddess and Tammuz, the reincarnation of her husband Nimrod. http://www.christiananswers.net/q-eden/edn-t020.html
Let us not forget the eggs:

. . . [F]rom Egyptian Belief and Modern Thought, James Bonwick, pp. 211-212: “Eggs were hung up in the Egyptian temples. Bunsen calls attention to the mundane egg, the emblem of generative life, proceeding from the mouth of the great god of Egypt. The mystic egg of Babylon, hatching the Venus Ishtar [Semiramis], fell from heaven to the Euphrates. Dyed eggs were sacred Easter offerings in Egypt, as they are still in China and Europe. Easter, or spring, was the season of birth, terrestrial and celestial.” - http://www.thercg.org/books/ttooe.html
The idea of a mystic egg spread from Babylon to many parts of the world. In Rome, the egg was part of the sacred ceremonies of the Mysteries of Bacchus. The Druids used the egg as their sacred emblem. In Northern Europe, China and Japan the eggs were colored for their sacred festivals.

The egg was also a symbol of fertility; Semiramis (Easter) was the goddess of fertility. The Easter egg is a symbol of the pagan Mother Goddess, and it even bears one of her names. http://www.christiananswers.net/q-eden/edn-t020.html
What of the "Queen of Heaven"? That title has fallen to a new mistress, revered by the Catholic Cult. We'll discuss that another time.

For now: What are you doing to celebrate Christ's Resurrection? Are you celebrating Passover, as God commanded? Or are you taking your children to Satan's Easter Egg hunt at your church?

Will your kids be chomping on chocolate eggs and rabbits tomorrow, taking the Devil's Communion?

Jesus Sighted in UK!

A 52-year-old gentleman named Martin Gregory is the latest to spot Jesus in an unexpected place. In this case, Jesus was hiding in the roots of his asparagus fern.

Gregory says, "It looked so much like His face it took my breath away." He continued, "It has not made me religious. But it could be something supernatural linked to the abbey ruins opposite."

Father David Sherratt, of St Michael and All Angels Church, Abbey Wood Road, Abbey Wood, said: "I have often heard of people seeing things. God may want Mr Gregory to interpret what he saw in the plant as a sign."

Peek-a-boo!

A few other examples of these "sightings", from the article:

  • 1978: Maria Rubio made a burnt tortilla, which resembled the mournful face of Jesus Christ. 8,000 curious pilgrims treked to her house in rural New Mexico to view the sacred icon.

  • 1981: Christ appears, crucified on a garage door in California, caused by reflections from two street lights that had merged with shadows of a bush and a real-estate sign.

  • 1987: Jesus appears on the chimney of a suburban bowling alley in Chicago. The four-foot image is formed from rusting metal.

  • 1989: Thousands flocked to a home in north-east Harris County, Texas, to view a linoleum table top reflecting the image of Jesus.

  • 1991: Jesus made national news as the centerpiece of a Pizza Hut billboard in Atlanta. The image of Jesus' face was found in strands of spaghetti hanging from a fork.

Yes, Jesus (and that Catholic Pagan "Queen of Heaven", Mary) has been sighted in many places. Are these acts of God? Acts of Satan? Or are they tricks of the human mind? What does God's Word tell us?

God tells us that we are not to make and/or worship any graven images.

Leviticus 26:1
Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.

This is one of dozens of verses specifically condemning idolatry. What do you call it when people make pilgrimages to, say, a fern's rootball or a magic tortilla?

God has a particular punishment in mind for idolators. Paul tells us of it in Romans 1: 22-27.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Indeed, God turned the idolators into homosexuals! Why? That He might have further reason to condemn them to eternal Hellfire.

What, you ask, has all that to do with the fern rootball? Humans tend to recognize patterns in things they see, and project meaning onto them. It's a phenomenon called pareidolia. As David Hume noted,

There is an universal tendency among mankind to conceive all beings like themselves, and to transfer to every object, those qualities, with which they are familiarly acquainted, and of which they are intimately conscious. We find human faces in the moon, armies in the clouds; and by a natural propensity, if not corrected by experience and reflection, ascribe malice or good- will to every thing, that hurts or pleases us. --David Hume*

The mystical tortillas are not messages from God. There is nothing supernatural about a fern rootball that looks like Jesus, any more than a rutabaga that looks like Abraham Lincoln or a peanut that looks remarkably like Jimmy Carter. There is but one message from God, and it's the King James Bible!

Have you read it?

She's in a better place, my son . . .

A few months ago, I attended the funeral of a friend's grandmother. The Methodist minister, comforting my friend's parents, told them that "She's in a better place now. She's with Jesus."

Not according to my Bible!

Being at a funeral, I determined it was not an appropriate time to witness God's Truth to the minister (I'll call him Pastor Feelgood, for reasons soon to become apparent). Rather, I resolved to speak with him privately on the matter.

When I, not a member of the church, called to say that I wanted to discuss part of the minister's service, he was more than accommodating. I wonder if he saw a possibility to share discussion of God, or perhaps add to the collection plate? Either way, I agreed to meet him at the church and chat.

"What can I do for you?" Pastor Feelgood leaned forward in his chair, eager to offer guidance.

"A comment you made in the service, and which you repeated to [my friend's parents], caught my attention. I'm just hoping to explore some of your ideas a little further."

His brow furrowed as he wondered what he could have said that was controversial. "What comment was that?"

"You said that [my friend's grandmother] was with Jesus now, and in a better place. That's not what the Bible says, so I'm curious where you got that idea."

He hesitated, then asked, "What do you think the Bible says, exactly?"

I informed him that the Bible clearly states that the dead are dead, and do not have consciousness, until the Resurrection at the Day of Judgment. At that point, the saints -- that is, the faithful, not man-made Catholic "saints" -- would be resurrected in the first Resurrection, into glory and eternal service of God. Everyone else, in the second Resurrection, would be resurrected into judgment and be cast into the lake of fire. I laid out this position as follows:

Revelation 20: 4-5

I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection.

Followed by the second resurrection:

Revelation 20: 12-13

And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done.

This in no way suggests that there were any dead in Heaven, does it? They couldn't be in Heaven, as they'd not yet been judged.

Lest John not be an adequate source for you -- some have decided that Revelation is not really the Word of God, but a political screed, but that's another discussion -- let's listen to Paul describing his own beliefs:

Acts 24: 14-15

But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets: And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

A resurrection of the dead, not a continuation of life in other than bodily form. In order to be resurrected, one must first be dead.

Daniel prophesies in Daniel 12:1-2

And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

This indicates to me that the dead will remain dead (sleeping) until they are resurrected at Judgment. Daniel states that some will awake to everlasting life; this clearly demonstrates that most or all of the dead who will enter Heaven will be in the ground for many years beforehand.

Additionally, more of Paul:

1 Corinthians 15:50-54

I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: "Death has been swallowed up in victory."

This describes both the "Rapture" and the Resurrection. Paul is saying that those who are still alive and faithful will not die but will change; but also indicates that the dead are currently dead, unraised.

II Corinthians 5:10 states, quite clearly,

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that everyone may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

We must be judged. Judgment comes after Resurrection. Resurrection happens en masse.

Finally, Ecclesiastes 9:5,

For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.

I asked Pastor Feelgood how, given what Scripture states, he could in good conscience tell [my friend's parents] that [my friend's grandmother] was presently in Heaven with Jesus. He fumbled about for a bit, but eventually came to the truth: "It eases their pain."

I'm personally appalled and disgusted that ministers lie daily at funerals, convincing people that their loved ones are up "with Jesus" (when, let's face it, only God knows what was in the deceased's heart, and where he or she will really end up) when they know better. Lies like this encourages belief in all manner of occult nonsense, like ghosts and Ouija boards . . . all wonderful opportunities for Satan to play tricks with our gullible minds!

This incident got me counting the many other things ministers routinely lie about . . . There is much about which to blog, let me tell you!

What are your thoughts on life after death? Do we go to our eternal reward immediately, as the Pastors Feelgood of the world would have us believe? Or do we remain dead in the ground until Judgment Day and the Resurrection, as the Bible so clearly indicates?

Welcome to The Feelgood Bible!

Feelgood Bible? What's that all about, you ask?

For years, since joining a Bible-believing Charismatic church, I've been increasingly shocked and dismayed by the arrogance of church leaders and nominal Christians everywhere. What do they do?

  • Cherry-pick verses, like John 3:16a, and portray God and Jesus as some sort of free-love hippies.
  • Interpret God's Word, twisting His Truth to mean what they want it to mean.
  • Decide that parts are "out of date" or "for historical purposes only".
Who makes these choices? Pastors Feelgood, not God.

God gave us the Bible as His Complete and Perfect Word. It is not to be added to, nor removed from, nor altered. So doing is a direct disobedience of God's commandment!

When Pastors Feelgood are finished with the Bible, they've usually whittled it down to a pamphlet of happy verses of naive love, and treated the rest as so much toilet paper. That wee pamphlet is the foundation for their "Feelgood Bible".

Pastors Feelgood then elaborate upon the verses they've selected, building up the full "Feelgood Apocrypha"! The "prosperity evangelists" (think Joel Osteen) have developed an extensive Feelgood Apocrypha, writings which draw the reader away from God's core messages and into a Satanic world of greed-for-'God'. Heretical? I sure think so. Don't you?

If this isn't heretical, I don't know what is:

On Larry King Live, the following very disturbing conversation occurred with Larry King and Joel Osteen:

KING: What if you're Jewish or Muslim, you don't accept Christ at all?

OSTEEN: You know, I'm very careful about saying who would and wouldn't go to Heaven. I don't know ...

At this point, even Larry King appears surprised by Osteen’s answer. Then Larry tosses Osteen a "soft-ball" to explain his previous answer. And again Osteen openly denies that Jesus Christ is the ONLY way of salvation.

KING: If you believe you have to believe in Christ? They're wrong, aren't they?

OSTEEN: Well, I don't know if I believe they're wrong. I believe here's what the Bible teaches and from the Christian faith this is what I believe. But I just think that only God will judge a person's heart. I spent a lot of time in India with my father. I don't know all about their religion. But I know they love God. And I don't know. I've
seen their sincerity. So I don't know. I know for me, and what the Bible teaches, I want to have a relationship with Jesus.

[segment removed for brevity - MV]

KING: What about atheists?

OSTEEN: You know what, I'm going to let someone -- I'm going to let God be the judge of who goes to Heaven and Hell. I just -- again, I present the truth, and I say it every week. You know, I believe it's a relationship with Jesus. But you know what? I'm not going to go around telling everybody else if they don't want to believe that that's going to be their choice. God's got to look at your own heart. God's got to look at your heart, and only God knows that. - Quoted from http://www.av1611.org/osteen.html

This is what passes for Christianity today! No wonder faith is as strong in this country as the manufacturing sector!

This blog will explore what the Bible actually says about good, evil, natural disasters, sin, sex, Heaven, Hell, and everything else. Current events will also come into play, helping us see how God's Truth applies to here and now, not just what happened two to six thousand years ago.

I look forward to sharing with you, and some invigorating discussions about the Bible, God's Plans for humanity, and who God and Jesus really are!
